Our Afternoon Delight

It’s getting pretty hot here in Cebu and the rest of the Philippines. We are all experiencing a form of drought, commonly known as “El Niño”. Manila is facing the full front of the drought as water rationing is already taking place. Nonetheless, out with the negativity.

Twinkle and myself tried out Carlo’s Batchoy, a restaurant, in BOULEVARD, Jones Avenue where they are famous for serving Batchoy and fried dishes. My girlfriend ordered their famous Batchoy while I went with the conventional fried pork chop. The Batchoy costs around P42 while the pork chop at P75 (that includes one cup of rice).

Batchoy is a noodle soup made with pork organs, crushed pork cracklings, shrimp, vegetables, chicken stock, chicken breast, beef loin and round noodles. – Wikipedia

Moreover, after our late lunch we headed to Mango Square Parking Lot. We actually planned on going to the parking lot a week or two as I mentioned it to Twinkle as an awesome shooting location (Thanks to Georgia Jauslin’s portfolio pictures).

It wasn’t the best time to shoot as it was in the middle afternoon, the light was strong and it was unbelievably hot. The Sun was scorching on us! However, this didn’t stop us from enjoying our time together snapping away with our cameras. We even had a few fans from St Theresa’s College who were waving from their auditorium.

Vroom Vroom at BMW Cebu

My fellow groupmates and myself headed to BMW Cebu, Nivel Hills, to interview them regarding their wholesaling aspect in relation to our ENTREP 35 subject – Retailing and Wholesaling in which we had to produce a report for the final requirement. Nonetheless, we had a blast at BMW since we were accommodated by the gentleman himself, Justin, one of the Vice-Presidents from ACC (Asian Carmaker Cooperation).

He was kind enough to show us around the showroom and the service area. Moreover, he gave us a spin in his unimaginable BMW convertible which is priced at roughly P4 Million. We cruised around Busay at 80km/hr and that’s going up hill! The true force and power of a BMW engine is out of this world!

Meet up with Joey de Venecia III

Joey Joey Joey! Thats all I can remember from the jingle of Senatorial candidate Joey de Venecia III. A group of bloggers from Cebu Bloggers Society, members of the press and media were invited to an afternoon snack with Joey at Cafe Laguna Ayala Terraces.

Joey mainly gave the usual campaign speech in which he discussed his plans if he’ll ever be elected as Senator. Joey plans on giving out one laptop to every Filipino family, something similar to One Laptop Per Child. On the other hand, I found that too unrealistic. How about poverty and hunger in the Philippines? People need food on their plates here, not laptops. Joey needs to reorganize his campaign strategy.

Anyhow, Joey seems to be a trustworthy individual and seems a little bit techy as he is quite familiar with the social networking websites nowadays including PLURK (something similar to Twitter). He even maintains his own blog (which is currently down).

Debut Roll – Julia Nemenzo

This is my second debut in the past few weeks. I am lucky enough to tag along with Twinky who happens to be on a debut roll. She’s quite in demand with her friends. Nonetheless, the main objective there was to practice my photography. I only used my Canon 50mm 1.8 lens as it was shot outside under extremely low light conditions. This is what I managed to achieve:

My Valentine’s

It’s been more than a week now since Valentine’s and it’s only now that I am posting the pictures from the day. I spent most of the day with my girlfriend, Twinky . We ate our lunch at Don Merto’s, the branch next to Sacred Heart Girls – Juana Osmena.

We both ordered their famous American Quarter Pound Bacon Cheese Burger with fries and coleslaw which costs only P145 each. A great deal indeed! The burger was quite huge for the price yet it was immensely delicious. A BIG Thumbs up!
